Tracy’s Dress

Tracy Green was born in 1976. She married Richard Hansen in November 1995. She is the bride’s mother and best friend, and is the mastermind behind the final wedding dress Anna will wear in October.

A talented seamstress, Tracy pieced her dress together from high quality drapery fabric. Before she wore it down the aisle, she wore it down the runway of the 4-H fashion review and received a blue ribbon and special recognition. She had the opportunity to enter her dress again into the Saratoga County Fair, but decided against it. That was the year the Saratoga 4-H building burned down due to an electrical fire. Because of her decision not to enter the contest at the County Fair, the lucky bride was able to wear her masterpiece on her special day. Today, Tracy is deconstructing her dress to create the striping detail down the side of the final project.

Grandma Sharon’s Dress

Sharon Johnson was born in June 1943. She married Randol Hansen in Racine, WI in 1965. She is the bride’s paternal grandmother. She passed away in 2000.

This dress was also worn by her daughter and the bride’s aunt, Karen Hansen in 1993.

The lace ballgown has a tiered ruffle skirt that the bride loves to twirl in. The dress was packed and stored professionally, so it is still in perfect condition and bright white in color. The lace will be used in nearly every aspect of the final dress.

Great-Grandma Alice’s Dress

Alice Hutchins was born 19XX. She married Richard “Dick” Hansen in Hawaii 1941. She is the bride’s great-grandmother. She died in 20XX.

She was married in a non-traditional pink polka-dot day dress. While the belt deteriorated and needed to be replaced, the overall dress was preserved beautifully and fit the bride perfectly. Because of the unique style and incredible condition, it was worn for engagement photos and is being saved for the Harman gathering that will take place the day after the wedding. It will not be included in the final wedding dress so it can be worn in it’s entirety

Great-Grandma Anna’s Dress

Anna Whipple was born in 1923. She was married to Bernie Green in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1946. She is the bride’s namesake and great-grandmother. She passed away in 2005.

Her dress is made of ivory satin acetate. Due to age and improper storage, the fabric has deepened in color slightly and has become weak. Therefore, it will be used in small amounts for the stripe detailing in the final dress.
